Types Of Ringtones Ringtones are available as monophonic Nokia ringtones, polyphonic ringtones and truetone ringtones. What's the difference? Monophonic ringtones are a tunes played using a single note sound; these are downloaded without any further connections. Polyphonic ringtones produce a multi instrumental sound and require a compatible, fully WAP enabled phone as connection to the service provider's WAP address is also required. An example would be the 24 ringtone from the hit tv show "24". Truetones are digitally recorded ringtones and really maximise the fun side of personalised ringtones. They can be famous celebrity sound-a-likes, a barking dog, a Swiss Yodeller, police siren or absolutely any sound at all. Imagine the the reaction to Big Ben's chimes or a cat meowing when your phone rings! Truetones can be used on most compatible phones as ringtones or text alert tones. As with polyphonic ringtones, to download phones must be fully WAP enabled as connection to the WAP address for this type of ringtone will also be required. |
